These photographs show the Baglamukhi temple at Bankhandi in Kangra. A free photograph of the shrine near Pandoh was not available.
This is an old siddha peeth in the hills near Pandoh, in Mandi district. Local tradition links the shrine with the Pandavas, who are said to have worshipped Maa Baglamukhi here while they were in hiding, and to have asked her for protection from the plots made against them.
Maa Baglamukhi is the eighth of the ten Mahavidyas. She is worshipped when a family wants hostility to be stilled, a dispute to settle, and the home to feel protected. Devotees describe the temple as quiet, fierce, and wakeful.
