This homam is for people who want fear, delay, and a long debt to loosen. Maha Kala Bhairava is worshipped as Shiva’s form of time: the one who cuts what has gone on too long.
It is performed at the Vedic yagashala in Hyderabad on Kalashtami. Priests chant the Bhairava moola mantra, the Kala Bhairava ashtakam, the Bhairava kavacham, and passages from the Rudram. Black pepper, red flowers, herbs, ghee, and samidha are offered into the fire.
The Puranic story told with this rite is from the Shiva Purana: Bhairava manifested to humble Brahma’s pride, and later became the guardian of Kashi. Families book the homam as a remedial fire, not as a public darshan.
